The Universe is kind, benevolent and always giving; and you are the person who determines what the Universe is to give to you. Not because of the things you say and ask for, but through the feelings you feel.

When you feel on top of the world and grateful, the Universe will be giving you more and more things to be grateful for. When you feel incapable, despondent or not good enough, you will become more ineffective and not up to doing things. Whatever you are feeling, the Universe presents you with more opportunities to feel like that. It always says YES! to your feelings. Now that you have formed a habit of being grateful for the things you have, we will expand the range to the things you can do to boost your feelings of self-worth and efficiency.

Focus on the things you can do, rather than on those you can’t; celebrate all your abilities, however small or insignificant. So you can read – many people can’t. You can walk – some people can’t. You can be a good friend; you can look after your aged parents. You can cook a meal, you can get out of bed all by yourself! You are able to hold down a job that pays you. You’re able to study and learn things, you can play sports, run a marathon, swim, look after your kids, drive your car, play the trombone. There is no end to the things you can do if you truly search.

All this week, become grateful for all the things you can do, as well as for all the things you have; and watch for the next, quite controversial idea of things to be grateful for!
