In order to create more beneficial changes in your life, the practice of gratitude is unparalleled. There are so many things that we can be grateful for, and yet, for many people, coming up with just three things seems difficult.

That’s because they think it has to be some great, colossal, life-changing thing, before the practice becomes really effective. But effectiveness is measured according to your sincere feeling of gratitude about the thing/event, not by the magnitude of the thing.

So think of this: you are entering a small store, or a gas-station to pay for your gas, a place that doesn’t have automatic doors that open. Someone inside the store holds the door open for you and instead of just brushing past them, you stop, give them a big smile and say: “Thank you!” while at the same time, you think: “Thank you, bring me more!” of the helpfulness, consideration and respect a total stranger has just shown you.

And that means, you are being grateful and asking for more not of the action of opening a door for you, but for the qualities in that person that prompted their action; you are recognizing the goodness that person is; basically, recognizing the divinity within them as well as calling forth more helpfulness, consideration and respect from everyone and every instance in your life – your kids, your partner, your colleagues at work, your boss….

And start noticing, that after you have become truly and consciously thankful for such a small thing, you start being shown more acceptance, love, consideration than before as a general rule – and your life becomes smoother, more enjoyable. Keep being grateful for every small thing on your path, for the sun shining, for the rain that waters your garden, for the song of a bird, for anything that you appreciate in your life.

This allows you to become more open to receiving those things that you are wishing to create for yourself. This gratitude practice is a very powerful way of creating beneficial changes in your life. With the words “Thank you!”, you are empowering yourself and taking responsibility for your personal evolution.

Another practice, equally powerful and one you can apply to every circumstance or event that happens, whether it appears negative or positive, is sincerely asking: How does this become better? Because if what you see before you is negative, or unwanted, the question is suggesting that there can be something better, and you are now asking for it to manifest.

While if what you see is something positive, something you want and like, again it’s suggesting there is something even better, and you are calling forth that better reality to manifest, without limiting Spirit by a picture, or a description of what you would like. Spirit is you, so already knows that, but instead, can bring you something much, much better, that you can’t even imagine!
