If you’re asking what can I do to change what I see happening all around me and in the world, with the people in power advocating discrimination, racialism, wars, terrorism, all kinds of abuse of power and values that are contrary to those of democracy? Even more importantly, contrary to the values of divinity which are peace, love, harmony, justice and cooperation. Then the answer is, each one of us, within our own sphere of influence, can contribute massively by upholding the values we profess to hold.

On a personal level, it seems hopeless to try and change the rules and regulations a President or a Government is putting into place. So what we tend to do, is go into judgment, blame, anger, fear, sadness – whatever your personal brand of reaction is – but none of that is helping the issue at hand. In fact, we are adding our negative energies to the ones already being activated by the powers that be, and their decisions.

We don’t often think of invoking the Violet Flame of transmutation to be anchored within the negative situations we see and can do nothing about. But that is a powerful catalyst for change. We don’t often think of forgiving as a means to deal with the negativity out there in the world – and yet, for most of us, it’s one of the most powerful ways we can contribute. So instead of going into fear and blame, if we just call for the Violet Consuming Flame to forgive the unconsciousness that makes people act in destructive ways, we are adding to the light in the world, rather than contributing to maintaining the darkness.

When we notice a political agenda being put forward that promotes personal gain, or discrimination of any kind, we don’t go into battle against it. Resisting anything only calls forth more push-back, more conflict, more struggle. So starting with our own families, with friends, with colleagues, with anyone we have a conversation with, we promote our own values which are also the core values of divinity. Then, if that is what we feel called to do, we can join peaceful marches or demonstrations – not to oppose others’ views, which they have a right to, but to manifest our own. We are simply stating that our perspective must also be taken into account.

You stand for the Light, you stand for the Truth, you support any movement which upholds peace, harmony, freedom, abundance, safety and security for all people, all communities, all races and all cultures. You implement it first in your family, with your friends, in your workplace – that is where you can plant the seeds of kindness and understanding, graciousness and cooperation. Those will grow and expand from your small circle to bigger circles, touching your friends and in turn, their friends. You don’t need to be overly concerned with the people you don’t know and can’t reach; but let your words and actions demonstrate tolerance and consideration for all, within your own sphere.

If there is a peaceful demonstration upholding compassionate and humane values, by all means join it; but think twice about joining any demonstration that fights against anything. You would then be adding fuel to a fire that is already raging; fighting hate with hate, discrimination with more discrimination, criticism with more criticism, just pointing your weapon in the opposite direction.

What if, instead of needlessly venting about all the things you don’t like and don’t want, you silently but with determination, sent a blessing of the opposite quality to the one you see: when you see hate, send a blessing of love; when you see fear, send a blessing of safety and security; when you see injustice, send a blessing of rightfulness.

You will then be bringing Light into a world of darkness; and where there is Light, darkness can no longer exist.
