Having faith matters; what we have faith in is crucial.

Having faith is the same mechanism as having belief.  Only we usually apply having faith to religious beliefs, while having belief is more on the material plane.  Having faith really means having an absolute knowing about something that you can’t be shaken out of; a belief is something that can change depending on circumstances. .

And we often feel, or even say, I wish I could have more faith in this or that! or I wish I could believe in myself more!  And we think that our capacity for believing that we can actually reach our goal, or have faith in the intrinsic goodness of human beings is lacking or broken.

And we don’t know how to remedy that, how to get that mechanism working for ourselves again, since it seems that it has gone away. Or even, never existed.

But let me tell you that your capacity for believing and having faith is extraordinarily strong; but you have been pointing it in the wrong direction.  Just look at how strong your belief is that you are not good enough, that you are lacking in money, in success, that you never get what you want, that the world is out to get you, that you’re not safe, not supported, that your health is failing, and look at what it says in the scriptures: “As you believe, so shall it be done unto you.”

So if you ever experience any of those things I just mentioned, – and a lot more that I haven’t – it means that your faith and belief skills are working extremely well!  You just have to point that capacity you already have to believe and have faith, in the opposite direction, and not look at the appearances you see. They are just a coagulated expression of your thoughts and beliefs of yesterday, and also, the thoughts and beliefs of humanity at large, the collective consciousness.

Recognize that what you see may not be the truth; and if you don’t like what you see, why keep looking at it? Why not decide that you will no longer pay attention to those things that bother you, upset you, or make you feel anxious and worried, not to mention fearful, and pay attention only to those things that make you happy and make you smile?

When you happen on a horror movie on TV, do you stay there, or do you change your channel? You must decide to watch only fun movies or documentaries, to bring up only good and happy memories of the past, spend time only with people who love you and support you, and who you love also; laugh a lot and fill your life with so much joy that there is no time left in the day for frowning; and it only takes your decision, commitment and follow-through.

And you will have proved to yourself that you only need to turn your faith and belief skills to a different part of life in order for you to manifest a different reality. One that you want, not the one you don’t want.

Changing the channel of your mind is like changing the channel of your TV.
