Basically, your timeline is the life you are living now, in this moment of your incarnation. Your every decision, however small or momentous, influences that timeline, to either keep you on the same track, or move you in a different direction. It can elevate your life into a new higher, or lower vibration, which we then call shifting our timeline.
Imagine you’ve always been a nice, polite, truthful person and you’ve found yourself in a situation where telling the truth could result in an outcome that you really don’t want, that you really fear. Something bad could happen! So now you have a choice – you can either tell the truth, regardless, or not. Are you going to give in to fear, or will you tell the truth, bearing in mind that there are kind, positive ways of revealing the truth that brings the least possible upset to all concerned.
That decision, since it’s an important one, will definitely put you on a higher timeline if you choose to tell the truth, or on a lower one, if you choose the fearful protection for yourself. Choosing from fear is always a low vibration. As a result of that choice, if you make a low-vibrational one, life will present you with a certain number of other choices that subsequently you will have to make, and always making a lower-vibrational choice in each circumstance will lead to a downward spiral of more and more difficult situations to face.
If initially, you make the high-vibrational choice of telling the truth and not giving in to fear, life will again present you with a number of other choices that will be better ones, and if you consistently make the highest choice of those available, you will be on an upward spiral of better and better things happening in your life.
But even if initially you have given in to fear, and the bad thing has happened, then as life moves forward giving you a palette of other choices – if now, you make the highest choice out of those available, it will move you up a little, enough to have a higher-vibrational set of choices to make.
If you keep on the high road, you will eventually get out of the mess you’ve gotten yourself into, but not without some painful things to live through. Notice that every habit we have, every decision we make that is our usual one, is taking us in the same direction we are now going; and if we want a life that is different, we need to make some higher, and different choices.
But even if you telling the truth right away may result in some unpleasantness, it will never be as bad as getting enmeshed in a web of lies; and some people concerned may appreciate your courage in telling the truth regardless of consequences, that will perhaps greatly serve you in a future that you are not yet aware of.
So, when faced with a choice, make sure that you look at them all with discernment and choose the highest one, the one that your Soul, or Jesus, or Mother Mary or whoever is your role model right now, would make. From a place of Love, not fear.
