The concept of conscious living takes center stage in an exploration of the interplay between beliefs, attention, and life experiences. It is of the utmost importance to realize and accept that our consciousness is the guiding force shaping our reality. Life is an intricate dance between beliefs, attention, and life experiences. Our consciousness, which includes our perceptions and beliefs, has a profound impact on shaping our reality.

Just consider the idea that your intention and attention – and also response to life’s unfolding events basically determine how the event will impact your life. The need to shift from reactive thinking and therefore acting, to intentional living, is of critical importance, and will bring up into awareness potentials for a more enriching journey. Facts and events just are – and most of the time we cannot do anything about them; but how we relate to them can be changed; so it is up to us to do that. By aligning with a higher-than-human-consciousness we are also a part of, leads into a more harmonious and fulfilling life.

How do we align with a higher consciousness than our “normal” human one? Initially, by realizing that we are first and foremost Spirit, before we ever put on this suit called human. That means, before being born into material reality and before conditioning by our parents, teachers, society etc. Before being taught to relate to ourselves as a person with a name, separate from other people and everything else, and only that. When for the first 18 months to 2 years, we still felt one with our mother.

That is the reason for what we have termed the “terrible two’s” – the sweet and adorable babies suddenly become individuals, assert their own will and do what they want to do, regardless! And that’s as it should be, because they now live in a human world with different rules from those of the spiritual world. They have to make their own way in it, and find their own way back to the spiritual world that is their Real home. To finally realize that no amount of abundance or success in the material world will ever be enough to satisfy them; there will always be that sense of wanting more, wanting something higher, different! Then they turn to exploring meditation and spirituality in its many aspects.

We all get a call from Spirit in some way; but it’s up to us to listen and then, act on it. We stay mindful of what we are thinking about; we try to focus on the positive rather than the negative aspects of life after realizing that what we pay attention to and focus on, we draw into our lives in some shape or form. We create a vision of the life we want to have and focus on it consistently, telling the story of what we desire to have, be and do, abandoning the present story of what we don’t have, and can’t do and are lacking.

And you may be surprised at how quickly your life of despondency and lack of so many things will turn around to start feeling empowered and full of activities you can and love to do, simply by changing your focus of attention.
