I saw a video recently of a rose bud, opening petal after petal until it presented the fully opened, beautiful flower in a matter of a few seconds. The actual rose is somewhere else, every stage of its growth in potential, even if I can see it unfolding right now. It made me think of our world becoming, minute by minute and day by day, a different version of itself.
The world we live in, including ourselves is like that video, showing not just one rose, but a multitude of things, plants, creatures and beings that have their real existence not on that video, but somewhere beyond. Every stage of their life is already there, in potential, to be lived out in time and space.
Looking at the video, we don’t believe that the life, the power opening that flower is in the picture we see, do we? So looking at the world, we can understand that the real power underlying the movie that we are seeing with our eyes, is invisible to us right now. Just as the real rose being photographed is invisible.
The power opening that bud is really beyond the plant. That power is spiritual, the life-force activating the visible world. The plant that grows is a material picture of the infinite spiritual power animating all things according to the divine blueprint for each manifestation, and that includes you.
Plants have a consciousness allowing them to do certain things; animals can do a few more things; human being can do even more things; and all nature is always in balance and in harmony with all its parts. Day always follows night; and even if sometimes it seems out of balance, like when the day is longer than the night, it all balances out eventually, when in the next season, night is longer than the day. The seasons follow each other in an orderly fashion and greater cycles of time also succeed each other according to certain laws, many of which we have discovered.
When we live in accordance with spiritual laws, the laws of the Cosmos, harmony and well-being are the result; when we are in opposition to those laws, pain and suffering result. We are the only beings on this planet endowed with free will, and can therefore act in opposition to the laws of the Universe. All nature, not having free will, naturally lives in harmony with those laws. As self-conscious beings, we must choose to live in accordance with spiritual principles, which are cooperation, peace, joy, harmony, wisdom, beauty, support, perfection and abundance. We have been created on a higher rung of the ladder of creation surrounding us, so we can consciously express the attributes of Spirit, willingly adhere to the laws of our Source. To the degree we do that, our life will out-picture the inherent goodness of Spirit.
